From the Somebody Somewhere Was Praying For Me CD. This song tells the story of how the Lord will deliver his people from situations that appear hopeless. From unjust rulers, from slavery and bondage, bringing them to the promised land. It speaks of how he brought the children of Israel out of Egypt, through the Red sea, and eventually to the promised land. Its important to note that what he did for the children of Israel, he continues to do for his people today. As I post this song/video on this election day, NOvember 4, 2008, I must note the parallel with the African-American struggle. It was just a few years ago that we were enslaved, beaten, de-humanized, and murdered just for being black. I can recall the civil rights movement, Dr. Martin Luther King dream, and that entire struggle for freedom. Even though God did not move all the obstacles, he provided the strength to overcome. He is showing us today that he is still God, as America has elected its first African-American President, Barack Obama. What an awesome and mighty God we serve. So in the midst of this historic event, I thought it appropriate that we take some time and Look How Far The Lord Has Brought Us. Be thankful until HIM and bless his name.
